When you arrive you will be given a scorecard, a nametag and a pen, and our RANDIX compere will explain how speed dating works and answer any questions. Then the dating begins. Usually women will stay seated while men will rotate every 3-5 minutes when the whistle blows. After each date participants mark on a scorecard whether they would like to see that person again. At the end of the evening we collect in the top-sheets of all scorecards.

Including breaks the event may last up to three hours depending on the number of participants. Many speed daters stay for a few drinks after the event too.

It can be anything up to twenty dates depending on the size of the venue – anything more than this just leads to confusion and further indecision, as well as being quite tiring.

No-one's expecting you to make a lifelong commitment on the basis of a speed date! Three minutes is long enough to decide whether or not you like someone enough to want to see them again, and ensures that embarrassing silences are kept to a minimum.

We will inform you of any matches by email within 48 hours of the event. You will receive the contact details of all of the people that have ticked you on the night.

Most speed daters are common people who want to meet more people. They're generally normal, attractive people who just aren't meeting people through their work or immediate circle of friends.

The other speed daters should be within the age groups specified.

Approximately 30 percent of women and 60 percent of men come speed dating on their own.

You are very welcome to bring friends and many speed daters do.

You can go to as many as you like. Most people at each event will be new to speed dating so it will give you more chance to meet the right person.

You just need to be single and over 18 years old.

We charge your credit card when you book a speed dating event.

We are not normally able to offer refunds but will move you to a different RANDIX event provided you contact us at least three working days before the event. If you give us less than three days notice we will still do our best to move you to another event. If we are able to move you to an alternative event, you will be charged an additional £5 handling fee.
